Karen Latchana Kenney

Karen Latchana Kenney is an Indian-Irish author and editor born in Guyana and raised in Minnesota. Her debut picture book Snow Steps came out in 2024. It's about a little girl from Guyana who learns to brave the snowy winter of her new Minnesota home, based on the author's childhood immigration experiences. Her middle grade and young adult writing features scientific discoveries, technology, and mysteries of the natural world, including Folding Tech: Using Origami and Nature to Revolutionize Technology (Lerner), honor award winner of the Mathical Book Prize. Karen also works as an ELA curriculum developer at a curriculum publishing company and lives in Minnetonka with her family. She is represented by Abigail Samoun at Red Fox Literary.
