Mariam Mohamed
Mariam is a children's author, retired teacher, a Best Shorts Film Festival Award recipient, and a loving mother to two beautiful girls. Her books are titled: What I Wish You Knew About My Cousin Ali, Ayeeyo's Golden Rule, Eid Al Adha, and her latest book, The Hyena and the Fox. As a former school educator, Mariam has promised to be an advocate for the misrepresented, neglected and forgotten children in children’s literature. Her passion for writing started when she was only seven years old, after immigrating to the U.S. with her family. She struggled with making friends so she turned to books for comfort. Mariam wants children to learn to be more accepting, confident, kind, and to be taught integrity from a young age. She would love it for her readers to take the lessons and knowledge they’ve learned from her stories and apply it to their real-life situations.
